Trails Resolution on the Board of Supervisors Agenda

Next Tuesday, March 25 at 9:30am, the Board of Supervisors will consider a resolution to establish the Humboldt County Public Works Department as the lead agency on a pre-proposal for federal transportation funds. If funded, this program would result in $50 million to implement an "active transportation" project with a particular focus on development of a regional trail system here in Humboldt County. This is an opportunity to encourage the Supervisors to make this commitment to active transportation, and that the benefits will be worth the local investment.

The Trails Trust of Humboldt Bay The Trails Trust of Humboldt Bay was formed in July 2004 for the purpose of both advocating for and educating the community about potential projects for trail development and to raise funds to support the under-funded planning, design and permitting stages of trail development. Our goal is to help our community discover, learn about and enjoy the unique attributes of the region, particularly around Humboldt Bay, and at the same time to generate public support for trail projects.
